Queen Nefertiti's stamp
“This series is a tribute to the country I love and the feeling of what it means to be Egyptian.” - Nourine Hammad
The first drawing of the Ancient Egyptian series is Queen Nefertiti’s bust on an Egyptian Stamp, from 1953. This artwork is a depiction of this Egyptian Artifact bursting into the modern world using pop-art bold colors.
The Queen’s face lives up to the meaning of her name ‘the beautiful one has come forth’; her collar is hand gilded with 24 karat gold to accentuate her beauty and the value of this timeless era.
Medium: Pencil and 24kt gold on 100% cotton paper.
Size (framed): 75 cm x 75 cm (approx)
